my friend, nichole, and i thought it would be a fun sport to try and when i got a "living social" deal, we couldn't let the opportunity pass by. it was at the high park tennis and curling club in toronto. everyone that was there was new to the sport which made the environment much more enjoyable. we got about 30 minutes of instruction and basic rules and then had "free reign" to play as many ends as we could before 9:30pm. nichole and i were on a team with 2 other girls and played against another couple and 2 friends... and quite honestly i couldn't tell you who won because i could not wrap my mind around how the scoring worked! i don't do math as it is, so i let other people figure it out and just trusted that they weren't cheating! ha.
curling is a great team building exercise... everyone has a part to play and you need to communicate... yes, even yelling "HARD!!" - while we all attempted to communicate which way to release the rock in order to knock the opposing team out, for most of us it was just an accomplishment to get it to the other side!!
| this one counted... way to go nichole! |
NOTE: they tell you to dress warm - they aren't lying... but i would also add to wear/bring some gloves! :)
